Boulder

The bouldering competition will take place on an innovative wooden wall at the Whitewater Stadium in Ivrea.  The route will be staked out by Alberto Gnerro, a local climber of  International fame.

The climbers will compete for the Italy Boulder Cup (Coppa Italia) on Saturday and  for the Teva Boulder Contest on Sunday. The Teva Boulder Contest will be open to all athletes.

15.00 - 19.00:  Qualifier Round 

20.00: Finals 

The boulder  contest will be open to all athletes.  After the initial qualifier round, which will last approximately 2 hours and will include various routes for the competitors to climb, the top 8 men and top 6 women will be admitted to the Finals.   The finalists will compete in a night competition with new problems and a higher degree of difficulty.

Registration Fee: 20 euro

Admission to the Finals:  The top 8 athletes in the Mens category and the top 6 athletes in the Womens category  from the qualifier round will be admitted to the finals.

The Procedure for the Finals:  The finals will include boulder problems on 4 separate blocks.  Each problem will begin with a 2 minute common observation period (all finalists will observe together).  Then each climber will have a 3 minute period on the problem.  An athlete that is on the wall at the end of the 3 minute period will be allowed to complete the attempt.  At the end of the observation period, all finalists except the first competitor, will be isolated:  the first 3 minute period will begin when the finalists have all left the area and are in isolation.  The problem will be attempted by each finalist, one after another, before moving to the next block and boulder problem.  If an athlete solves the problem (TOP) and/or  terminates his climb in less than the 3 minutes allotted, he/she will go to a separate isolation area in the transition area and the next competitor will begin his climb immediately.  This procedure will be repeated for each of the 4 blocks. 

Rankings:  The finals rankings will be determined solely by the results of the Finals round and will not take into consideration the placing in the qualification round. In the general results, any ties resulting from competitors with the same number of points will be broken by considering the results of the previous round.

The Italy Boulder Cup and the Teva Boulder Contest are organized in  collaboration with Runout Climbing School and Ivrea Outdoor.
