Paragliding

The 2010 edition of TEOG includes a new discipline, which will be a demonstration event this year: paragliding.

Paragliding was developed in the High Savoy region at the beginning of the 1980s when several young parachutists, searching for a way to become airborne without the cost and restrictions involved in jumping from an airplane, decided to take off from a steep grassy hillside.  Thus, the first groups of parachutists were formed that start their flight from slopes and cliffs. From that moment on, the sport took hold and the number of followers increased enormously.

The competition will consist of one round starting with a single launch from  the Pian dei Muli at 1400 meters.

The first pilot will guide all the group to the landing area which will be on a palstic swimming pool with a 2mt diameter.

There will be a ranking of all the pilots and an awarding ceremony at the Canoa Stadium.

The paragliding competition is organized in collaboration with Parapendio Canavesano Sparavel and Parapendio Cavallaria
