The best kayakers in the world will pit themselves against one another in four days of thrilling trials down whitewater courses that are of rare beauty and great difficulty.
The races will take place on the Dora Baltea river which runs through Ivrea, as well as on one of the most difficult parts of the nearby Chiusella river. In fact, the Chiusella river is called “the true pearl of the Alps” because of it’s extreme difficulty level. It features rapids with a 5°- 6° difficulty level and a 120 meter per kilometer drop and is almost certainly one of the most difficult free ride kayak race courses in the world. Ivrea’s semi-artificial slalom course, considered to be one of the most difficult in Europe, is every bit as challenging and guarantees spectators excellent visibility and ample space to watch these highly spectacular races.
